G3 South
May 16th 2008
Timed to catch our friends from the US who may have been to the Nordic Games Conference on the 14/15th. Like last year, the event will take place at Gosterwood Manor, Forest Green, Dorking Surrey RH55RX
Gosterwood Manor was once owned by Gary Brooker, lead singer of Procol Harum - famous for Prog Rock hit "Whiter Shade of Pale".
The beautiful moated manor house, nestled beneath the leafy Surrey Hills, is now the impressive home of Les Edgar – games industry veteran who co-founded the famous Guildford developer Bullfrog with Peter Molyneux and built the company on the back of hits such as Populous, Magic Carpet and the Syndicate series before selling to Electronic Arts in 1995.
Gosterwood Manor has one of the South of England’s premier clay shooting grounds and is a pleasant 25 minutes south of the M25 or a cab ride from Dorking Station
The day will start at 0930 with bacon sandwiches, coffee, tea and bravado. Teams will gather and size each other up, have team photos and listen to the safety talk. Each team will then walk round the site, stopping at stands and with each team member shooting one at a time with an instructor.
Once all the teams have completed all the stands (there is one particularly interesting ‘surprise’ stand) it’s off to The Parrot for lunch and prize giving at 2pm.
Unlike last year, we will NOT return to the shooting ground after lunch. You’ll have the chance to sit round and catch up with friends, have a few drinks and exaggerate your firearm prowess.
Will Codemasters retain the exceptionally impressive, handmade trophy for a second year?!
